We're Getting Close
It's amazing what a coat of fresh paint can do! The much anticipated tasting room remodel is nearly complete. In just a few short weeks, we have managed to completely change the look and feel of our decades old salle de dégustation. Today the floors are being sealed. They look terrific but there are some intoxicating fumes in the air that are making it hard for me to concentrate. Who knows, maybe it's just that spring is in the air.Along with the remodel, we've been heavily involved in a DTC review. That's wine marketing speak for taking an in depth look at our direct to consumer sales channels. What are our goals? What are our strategies? What are our opportunities? Do we have the right operating systems? Do we have the right metrics? Do we have the right people? Are their goals aligned? It's a bit like peeling back the layers of the onion. The more I look, the more I want to cry! Just kidding. It's actually been a very valuable process that is breathing new life into the way we approach this extremely important aspect of our business. Helping me in the process is a whiz bang business consultant named Kristi Taffe whose company is Juice Box Direct. Don't let the juvenile sound of her company fool you. She is a sharp minded analytical consumer sales and marketing specialist with years of experience. By the time we're through, I'm confident we'll have the best tasting room, best wine club and best online/digital/e-commerce experience in the business. At least that's my hope. In the meantime, I've got to turn the computer off. The fumes are getting to me |
