Top 10 Reasons Why I Love the Wine Industry
Looking back at my last few posts, I realized that my tone was a tad in the dumps. It's easy to get frustrated in this business. Yet, at the same time, I can't overlook the wonderful aspects of the wine industry and all the lasting friendships I've created. So, rather than focus on what's bad, I want to share with you what's really great about our industry. I thought maybe a top 10 list would be appropriate. |

Your exercise in appreciation gets an A from this former math teacher for clarity, style, articulation, composition, etc, but more importantly for the attitude you demonstrate in smelling the roses rather than feeling the thorns. A pleasure to read and to see you share a pick-me-up.

In the accompanying photo of the People, the ivy-blanketed building in the background emphasizes one feature of the wine business which has intrigued me. The interior of that building, while an efficient barrel cellar in design, also has a certain Old World atmosphere of tradition and mystery. So, I would add unique wine country architecture to the list of so many things which embody the allure of wines, and DCV's own concepts of winery building construction and its evolving philosophy of winemaking.
